    PolyJet 3D Printer Under 10,000 Euro? Might be Possible!

    Polyjet printing, a technology which certainly makes FDM based printers look like child's play. What if I told you that soon, the $300k machines offered by Stratasys could be available for under 10,000 Euro? Would you believe me? When One Professor at Cologne University thinks so and for a Master's project for one of his courses he has asked students to create a sub 10,000 Euro polyjet printer.     Sure, the Stratasys technology is patented, so that brings around a whole slew of issues, but the fact that this could be possible to me is pretty cool. Below is an image of one of these concepts submitted by students:

    I suspect that's probably what Stratasys builds them for, if not less. It's because of the patent there's no competition for that type of rapid prototyping, so they can charge a very steep premium.
