    Question Info on Ballscrew Linear Rails?

    My background is predominately in CNC machine. I know regarding CNC machines that professional machines don't use rubber belts of any kind, basically because of all the issues around the belts themselves. Instead they use Ballscrew Linear Rails because they have much less friction and work much better.

    I tried to find a 3D printer that used Ballscrew Linear Rails but I couldn't locate any. Is there a reason for that (other than cost)?

    Does anyone have any information (good or bad) regarding adding Ballscrew Linear Rails to a 3D printer?

    I would assume the consumer that always wants thing cheap cheap cheap, the fact that consumer printers were more or less designed and build in someones garage all come into play. Then factor in size and weight.. most printers discussed here are "Desktop" printers.     I should contact https://filamentinnovations.com/ after covid and see if they give tours since they are only a couple hours drive from me. $15,000 USD for 18.5"x15"x36" build area allows you to print larger than life objects easily.
