Quantum dots are the tiny little nanoscale particles which have recently begun to be used in Televisions for their light emitting qualities. One company called Quantum Materials Corp, has recently secured technology which will allow them to 3D print quantum dots into products to prevent counterfeiting. The dots are printed in such a way that a unique signature is created within the product. The product's manufacturers are then able to check to see if that signature is within a given product of theirs. This technology could be used in a variety of industries as Intellectual property theft is on the rise. More details on this story can be found here: http://3dprint.com/7701/quantum-dots-3d-print/
