Organova Starts Testing Drugs on 3D Printed Liver Cells
Organova is that Sci-Fi company many of us have heard has plans to eventually 3D Pritn human organs. Well, we are getting closer. Organova announced that they have begun using 3D Printed Liver cells to test the effects that Acetaminophen has on the human liver.
This could have major impacts for the drug approval and testing industry, as it can speed up testing, and allow scientists to test drugs on human tissue prior to risking testing them on actual humans.
Here's a video about Organova's technology:

I knew they were close to this kind of thing, going as far as skin cells to help burn victims. But I had no idea that they were able to replicate cells from other organs now.

Here are some more details about the Organova progress. The liver lives for 40 days and works perfectly. Pretty crazy. Another 3-4 years and we may have an entire liver!
