We've seen it over and over again, how hospitals and surgeons are using 3D printed models to aid in surgery. This process allows them to practice before taking part in the real thing. Stratasys today announced that a company called Replica 3DM has been using Stratasys Objet 3D printers to help 12 hospitals in the United Kingdom in preparation for surgery. Most notably they utilize the 3D printers to create replicas so that titanium implants can be bent and sized correctly to the patient, prior to actually cutting them open. This saves on time, money, and anesthesia use. Read more about this increasing use of Stratasys 3D printers in pre-op cases at http://3dprint.com/13033/stratasys-3d-printers-surgery/
