They are the first retailer in the US to start selling 3D printed merchandise. I find it interesting that they are printed by ShapeWays. I wonder if this is how future retailers will do it, or if they will print their own stuff.

3D-printed products, while gaining traction in the fashion industry, have yet to break the mainstream. But Neiman Marcus might be about to change that.
The retailer has added two 3D-printed products to its online store: a $295 sterling silver heart pendant necklace and a small, stainless steel desk sculpture, priced at $395.

Printed by Shapeways, the hand-polished necklace is made-to-order (customers are guaranteed to receive their orders within three weeks) and can be customized to add your initials.
Certainly, the future of 3D printing looks bright. In the last year alone, 3D printing has been the source of several fashion pairings, with quick and easy custom fit jeans from Open Fit Lab, accessories by Catherine Wales, and shoes at Paris Fashion Week.
It should be interesting if we start seeing other retailers follow suit.
