3D printed shoes - wife loves these

My wife is in love with these. Bare in mind that she is a nerd though LOL.

From what I saw they cost around $900, which is kinda crazy in my mind.

Wow, I'm loving these! Need to find someone that can design some for me!

$900 is a bit steep. I'm sure you could probably find a design for these somewhere on the net for free, and then just use Shapeways or your own printer to print them.

I bet with a FFF machine and Nylon filament it would be possible, perhaps even rubber filament :-)
Though I read somehwere that (some other) printet shoes where not comfortable?

I stick at earrings to keep my girl happy... ;-)

LoL, give it a few years and I bet there will be ways to print shoes like this at prices that are 5-10% of the current price of $900. At that point it will be just as cheap to buy 3D printed shoes as regular shoes, and if they combine other materials or densities of materials, they may actually be comfortable.

Yeah, you'd have to get shapeways to print it for you... I don't think PLA/ABS would cut it...

There are some similar models elsewhere we can find online, which can be printed on other printers yourself. Here is an example from Cubify, owned by 3D Systems: http://www.dezeen.com/2013/08/02/cub...int-overnight/

Here is another one I just stumbled upon. Kinda cool:
