    UK Dental Lab to Transition to 3D Printing Spinal Cord Implants

    Spinal cords and teeth don't have a lot in common, however one dental lab in the UK, Attenborough Dental, is deciding to expand their business to begin making 3D printed spinal implants. The company which has been around for over 100 years, and is one of the largest dental labs in all of Europe will use the machines they have been using to make dental implants, and fixtures to do the same in orthopedics. They will make customized 3D printed spinal implants, and down the road likely expand into hip and knee implants as well, all using 3D scanning and printing technology.     If you look at the Wholer's report 2013, You'll notice that a Belgian Research center is 3D Printing more than 10,000 spinal implant / year in bioceramic and titanium ! And those orthopedic implant are used for more than 10 years now...

    If you look at the scientific literature, you'll notice that many others companies already produce metal implants for years.

    Attenbourough Dental makes nothing new here. They are 10 years late...
