    Successful 1st ABS Print

Just printed my first ABS model using a pre-sliced PLA models g-code, I did not even re-slice for ABS preheated 230C Nozzle 96C Bed selected the PLA FOB Fish g-code for Print and quickly Updated the Models PLA temperatures to the Preheated ABS values using the LCD.
    And this is the Result

    FOB ABS.jpg

Actually it printed better than when using PLA, as I increased the fan speed to compensate for the higher ABS filament temperature.
Allowing it to bridge better, may need to reevaluate the Fan setting I have for PLA in cura?

actually with things that contain internal joints, abs is generally better. Simply because it shrinks so much that the fine gaps netween sections come out better.
That said it still stinks and the layer bonding is crap :-)
As far as fan speed goes - pretty much 100% all the time will work best.

The faster you can cool the extruded plastic, the better the print will be.

It is a Hictop 3DP12 Aluminum frame printer

I bought both My 3DP11 and 3DP12 for around $200 they were One Owner Barely Used units that for one reason or another could not be made to operate.
Both my 3D Printers have home made filament run-out sensor's so there Actually a 3DP17's. Running Marlin 1.1.5 firmware.

    Congratulations!

ABS has been a thorn in my side - I have never had a good structural print with it.

I use PLA toughened with rubberizers (aka 'Tough', 'Raptor', or 'Advanced' PLA) for most everything these days.

I would not say I have not printed good ABS prints. I am just over coming a few obstacles in my endeavour to learn the steps to a prefect 3D Print.

This one is being able to keep my build surface from forming air bubbles at the ABS build surface temperatures.
Most likely air was there the entire time and just expanded during the 1st few ABS builds, Air has been released now so may never occur again.

ABS needed a Raft to print without warping

PLA was fie without a Raft.
