    Mold making material

    Hey gals and guys,

Was wondering if anyone had any recommendation for mold making material brand? I was looking to create molds for certain PLA printed statues. The statues are highly detailed, and I was looking at using silicone rubber/or a variation of it. The brands I've found on the net are:

    Tap-plastics: https://www.tapplastics.com/
    Smooth on Store: https://shop.smooth-on.com/platinum-...ilicone-rubber

Tap-plastic had a very very informative video on youtube for introduction to mold making. Anyone have any suggestions?

Oh should mention that it's for indoor use;temperature control. Would prefer a kit with step by step instructions. Also would prefer simple curing process ie. pouring over master item with rectangular confined walls etc. The material ill be using to cast in the mold would be strictly polystone; planning to use the mold multiple times.

    Cheers

    Hi,

I switched to SLS nylon negative molds, it is more accurate and the with a good mold release agent it is better reusable as well.
SmoothOn or MoldMax silicone also works.

    Cheers
