flashforge dreamer, have i made a mistake

hi, I purchased a flashforge dreamer after a year of playing around with an XTZ printer. I think I may of made a mistake in buying this new printer. I am running sp3d to slice the part. and so far I have not been able to get the printer to print one single part bar the demo part.

I am using air spray to hold the filament down, but am just getting string effect from the printer. I am using PLA. I have nevr had any of these faults on the old XYZ so what am I doing wrong.
what is the best setting for printing with PLA on this printer using sp3d . I have tried using the flashforge software but I don't think it is very good.

any help with this machine would be great.

    what is sp3d ?
got a link - all i can find is some sort of piping software.
    No mention of a slicer.

Why not just use flashprint ?
