    Japanese Earthquake Survivors Create Disaster Relief Drone

    Two young people who were deeply affected by the 2011 Great East Japanese Earthquake have taken that feeling and turned it into a new design for a lightweight disaster relief drone. Using Autodesk Within software, they were able to set constraints for size and weight and generate an infill that would meet those requirements. Then 3D printed, the drone could be outfitted with thermographic and infrared imaging equipment that would aid searchers in finding those in need of rescue.
