15-year-old Oliver Smith of Derbyshire nearly died in a freak cycle accident when he lost five pints of blood after smashing his arm through a glass window. Doctors were able to save his right arm, but it doesn't help with his schoolwork. Smith's design technology teacher at St. John Houghton Catholic Academy knew that upcoming exams would be a big problem for Smith without being able to use his right hand, and thought of an innovative plan, which involved 3D printing.
