What does the 3D Printing Industry Need?

This is a topic I was discussing with some friends. Right now the 3D Printing Industry is only of interest to those that are "into" stuff like this. People with experience on CAD like it because they can design 3D Object, and then bring them to life. People that are tech nerds like it because they can actually use their knowledge and interest to make useful things.

What is it that the 3D printing industry needs in order to garner interest of the average everyday Joe and Jill?

I think the 3d printing industry needs cheaper printers that can be used to print more basic items. We also need more access to high quality 3d printers in stores, or shops locally.

Well cheaper, imo 300-700 dollars that its atm is a pretty nice price tagg for something that can print almost anything in 3D.
Of course cheaper the better, but its not that awfull at the moment ^^

In my opinion Quality does have to increase, And speed of a print
(Or as being loud goes so you can just let it print for 2 days but nobody would be able to notice it was printing if you know what i mean :P with Reprap well you know when its on haha :P)
