MakerBot at the AutoShow in NY

I thought this was interesting. MakerBot is at the AutoShow in NY with printed out car prototypes. Kinda a strange combination but they are there with this printout of the Toyota FT-1. I wonder if they plan to enter some sort of partnership with Toyota.



ON top of this, I am really impressed by the print quality of this car. Almost no layering can be seen in this photo! Great resolution.

Very impressive. Is this done on a Gen 5 Makerbot?

donny, yes it was printed on a Generation 5 Replicators as far as I know.

They are giving away MakerBot printers at the show.



My question is why are they giving away a Replicator 2 rather than a 5th generation?

Hey guys, I actually won the aforementioned printer! I can't wait to get it. It should be coming to me by the middle of this week. I can't believe my luck. Anyhow I'm actually glad they have away a replicator 2 rather than the 5th gen since I keep reading that the 5th gens are pretty problematic.
