The 56th Salone del Mobile is opening this week in Milan and it promises to be the location to visit for all things design. One arena within the enormous show is the Workplace 3.0 that will contain a exhibition titled /sim·bi·ò·sys/ which brings together the work of 11 designers exploring parametric design as a way of working with pre-existing objects. The idea is to use high-quality 3D scanners to bring the objects into the virtual world, remesh them using specially designed algorithms, and then create anew a 3D printed object at the nexus of Classic and Cutting Edge.
