    Monash University Acquires Xline 2000R and 3D Prints Giant Airplane Part

    The Xline 2000R 3D printer from Concept Laser is the biggest metal additive manufacturing machine in the world - and there are only five of them in existence. The latest to acquire one of the machines is Monash University along with spinoff company Amaero Engineering, who have already made a name for themselves by creating the first 3D printed jet engine. With the Xline 2000R, the two institutions printed an airplane door hinge that currently has the distinction of being the biggest metal 3D printed aerospace component ever.     May be largest metal additive manufacturing machine but the article states that it is the largest 3D printer in the world. There are other 3D printers that are much bigger including Thermwood's LSAM.
