I ordered a basic 12" Pegasus a couple of days ago. This is my first 3D printer and have been doing a lot of reading. I'm pretty familiar with CNC, electronics and programming so I'm definitely swimming with my head above water but there is still a lot to learn.

One thing I noticed is the Pegasus upgrade kit but don't really need all the benes from it. However, a better lead screw upgrade sounds like a good idea to me. Though, there seems to be some debate over moving to an ACME screw. I'll probably just build the stock basic 12" and take it from there as I get more familiar (definitely a tinkerer here) but feel I need to ask: Is any advantage to going straight to ACME lead screws? Are they just drop-in replacements?
