Printoo, Tiny Module Printed Boards For 3D Printed Objects Launches on Kickstarter

Have you ever 3D printed something and wished you could add electronics to it in a simple, non intrusive way? Well it looks like very shortly you will be able to do just that. Today a company called Yvisible launched their Kickstarter project for Printoo. Printoo modules are tiny, low powered, printed electronics boards which are Arduino compatible. They can easily be inserted into 3D printer to make robots, cards, or whatever else you could imagine. This will likely give the Internet of Everything a huge push in the right direction:

There are currently 15 different board type, which more in the works. Check out their Kickstarter project here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...m-compatible-m
Here are the 15 boards which will be immediately available once the crowdfunding project is fully funded:

Thank very much for sharing this! I'm one of the creators of this project.

It used to be that makers and electronics enthusiasts made square rigid circuit boards to go inside of square boxes. 3D printing rids us of the square boxes, Printoo and printed electronics rids us of the square circuit boards. We've only just started playing with it, and so far we've had tons of fun creating smartphone controlled boats, hovercrafts, and cars. Some examples:

^ this is an attempt at an amphibious version of the Ziphius, an aquatic drone featured on Kickstarter a while ago.

This was a hovercraft. The white stuff's a styrofoam base we used to make sure it floated. With two teeny DC motors it was actually so fast we had to tune it down to 50% in order to be able to properly drive it.

This is such a great idea. Do you plan on continuing to design more modules? This has astronomical potential!

    Thank you!

The answer really depends on the volume and success of this campaign. If successful, we definitely plan to continue to build on the Printoo ecossystem on three fronts:
    - New printed electronics components and technologies. There are many great technologies in printed electronics such as printed transistors, memory, sensors, printed OLED and LEEC, that we would love to make available for the Printoo. One of the main motivations of this project is indeed to bring these technologies out to the open and into the hands of the DIY/maker/technology enthusiast crowd.

    - New modules. We'll be paying close attention to requests from the backers and users of Printoo. One of the most pressing ones is to have some sort of speaker. If you have any ideas please share!

    - We'll share the designs/layouts of the boards and will give out all possible help on how to prototype your own boards on flex materials. With that, it should be relatively easy to create custom modules, the same way many enthusiasts create their own Arduino shields.
