Students at Inholland University in the Netherlands, with the good fortune to have Ultimaker 3D printers on campus, were able to create several iterations of 3D printed rockets. The second one they were able to launch, with it being returned by parachute. While it was also constructed with parts made out of carbon, the students are now working on a third version that is completely 3D printed. Students learned about the speed and quality offered by 3D printing, not to mention the ease and affordability available as they made changes to the rockets.
