The San Diego-based 3D printing company SD3D recently created a skateboard almost completely made up of 3D printed parts. The deck, which was designed by Kiana Duncan, has a hexagonal pattern and was printed in carbon fiber nylon material. To create the 3D printed bearings and wheels, the SD3D team implemented a planetary gear system made with Taulman3D’s Nylon 910. After finishing up and assembling the 3D printed board, SD3D sent it to the digital skateboarding channel Braille Skateboarding to test it out at the skatepark.
