Pasta company Barilla is a pioneer of 3D printed pasta, having introduced the concept back in 2014 with a contest to design printable pasta shapes. The winners demonstrated the power of 3D printing to create complex, even dynamic shapes that would be impossible to produce any other way, and while it'll still be a bit of time before such creations appear on grocery store shelves, Barilla is continuing to work hard on prototyping their pasta printer, which they've been developing for about five years.
