    resoldering wires on the fans?

    Hi there
    please could I ask:
when I repaired a blocked extruder on the Replicator 2
the wires attached to the fans tore off from the solder points : if I resolder does it matter which coloured wire (red, black) goes to which point on the fan?
ie will it short the control board if I get them the wrong way round?

    Many thanks
    Simon

I'm not sure what fans MakerBot is using, but a fan that runs backwards would be unusual. All the small DC fans I've ever seen will simply just not run if the power leads are reversed.

Birdy100, regardless, yes it does make a difference in how the fan will work. But a typical fan won't damage the electronics if the power leads to it are reversed.
