Question 12v 280w heated bed wiring Ramps 1.4/ Arduino 2560

    Hi!

    I just purchased a 12v 280w silicone heated bed.

My challenge is how to wire it properly so i don't frie my Ramps 1.4/ Arduino 2560.
I have a 500w 30amp 12v power supply, and according to my calculations it produces enough watts and amps to power the heated bed and all the other electronics, but i am worried that my Ramps 1.4 gets fried if i pull 280w directly trough the ramps board to the heated bed.

Does anyone know if the Ramps 1.4 can handle that amount of watts or if i need a DC to DC SSR so the power doesn't go trough the ramps board?

The RAMPS heat bed circuit is limited to 11 amps by a resettable polyfuse. So, your 280W bed (23 amps) would require use of an external relay or SSR.
