Moddler has been involved in some very high profile projects lately, and both concerning awards, First, they were contacted to create figurines of baseball Hall of Famers Rod Carew and Tony Gwynn for trophies commissioned by the MLB. Using their Objet Eden 500 and VeroWhite material, the prints took five days of work on their end to complete, with 32 hours of 3D printing included. Next, the Moddler design team was asked by New York Racing Association president Chris Kay to help in creating part of the next Triple Crown trophy, to be held until that next very special horse comes along. The team 3D printed a replica of an equine sculpture by Robert Santo, made to sit atop the trophy. Again, using the Objet Eden 500 and VeroWhite material, this particular model took 14 hours to print—and now we’ll have to wait for the day when it is handed out!
