Crazy Upcharges for Ultimaker 2 3D Printers

Has anyone noticed the crazy demand for the Ultimaker 2? The 3d printer lists for €1,895.00 on the Ultimaker Website (approximately $2600). However they have a 8-10 week wait (I'm guessing because demand is exceeding supply). There have been a few that have sold on eBay for upwards of $3500. One website called Maker Shed is selling them for $2999 and ships them within 1-2 days of the order. Are Ultimakers really this good that people are willing to pay so much over retail?

There is definitely a high demand for the Ultimaker. There was 1 on ebay that sold for $3502 a few days ago. (see http://www.ebay.com/itm/ULTIMAKER-2-...item338c4fff27)

That's the only one that sold on ebay though. I don't know why anyone would pay $1000 more than retail, but I've see crazier things on ebay.
