A man in China is very happy to be walking right now and he credits the success all to 3D printing, thanks to a recent spinal implant surgery by Dr. Liu Zhongjun, chief orthopedics surgeon at Beijing Third University Hospital. After a significant portion of Mr. Yuan’s spinal column was cut out to remove a malignant tumor, Dr. Zhongjun 3D printed a replacement portion for him, made of titanium mesh and seven and a half inches long.
