The recent completion of the Stavros Niachros Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, Greece marks the end of a project ten years in the making, and is a gorgeous complex housing the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera as well as a lush park. One of the most striking features of the center is the Energy Canopy, a wafer-thin roof covered in 5,560 photovoltaic panels. London engineering and design firm Expedition designed and built the canopy, and recently they were asked to create a scale model for display at the V&A Museum. Expedition turned to product development company ARRK, who used 3D printing to create an intricate replica in virtually no time at all.
