Dr. Matthew Allen of Cambridge University recently used the tools provided through advanced manufacturing to create a model of a dog's knee for partial knee replacement surgery as well as to 3D print surgical guides to aid during the operation. As a result, he was not only able to go into the surgery better prepared, but able to perform a less invasive operation with a much higher degree of accuracy than ever before.
