3Dynamic Systems has created a new method for 3D printing with ceramics that should prove very helpful in the aerospace sector. Using ceramic micro fibers embedded in a polymer matrix, the scientists have been able to make a composite that is ceramic-fiber reinforced. The suspension can be used to form structures, which are then fired in a furnace to 1450°C to translate the model into a CMC component.
