Dear All,

I am writing in behalf of 3D Life, (www.3dlife.gr), a new 3D Printing company that has been created, and is located in Athens, Greece, the only 3D printing company available in Greece.
The company creates 3D printing solutions mostly for Medical applications such as printing high quality and very detailed models of different parts of the body (teeth, hands, bones) but also organs of the body (such as a heart, or liver, or brain) Our products also include Architectural Applications, meaning that our 3D Printer can create high quality models of buildings, and statues. Finally, our company can create Prototype models that people send to us.

In our office, we have a dedicated team, working to provide these high quality models with the newest 3D printing technology available, that is best used in the production of these models. In the hopes of promoting our products and letting people know of this technology that is available from our company, we are participating in the American Medical Association Healthier Nation Challenge (http://www.innovatewithama.com/project/detail/229) which will help us to promote our products and make people understand how the 3D printed medical models can be used.

With the help of Dr. G. Sarris and his team, we are taking the medical 3d printing to a different and new level of health care.
3D Life’s mission is to provide patient-specific 3D printed models to hospitals and surgeons for enhanced pre-surgical planning. This is because it allows:

1) the better study of the anatomy of organs. This better knowledge of the organs can be used to be able to make a better surgery preparation for complex problems. As a result, the doctors can better plan reparative operations based on conventional medical imaging which is suboptimal. The human mind can only partially understand trying to create mental images of 3 dimensional structures so we believe that having this ability will make operations shorter and more efficient, and provide better results.

2) As a result of this, the ability to hold and manipulate the 3D printed organ before the surgery permits clear understanding,, surgical simulation, and unprecedented surgical accuracy, safety, and effectiveness, making even the hardest of operations safer. Since the surgeries become more efficient, new ways can be created and taught to new physicians, providing better health care and greater number of positive results.

3) Because this is a very detailed, real and very accurate representation of organs, and potential problems that they have, we believe that they can also be used to teach students at school, in biology class, or medical students about the anatomy of organs and problematic organs so they can have a better picture of what to expect in a real life experience of surgery.
