    Looks like Gen 5 of the Replicator has begun shipping today. Has anyone preordered one, or planning on getting one?

    I'm going to wait for some reviews before buying one. I can't imagine it getting bad reviews though.

    I can't imagine paying so much, $2899, for a machine with about $1000 worth of technology in it.
    They added a few features, like a camera, a network board, a color display, but that only added about $50 to the cost of building it, not $700. They created a smart extruder that will pause the machine if you run out of filament (duh! Why isn't that standard for everyone?), but it is probably just another step on the path of expensive proprietary filament as per Stratasys.
