This June will see the 2016 National Week of Making, an Obama initiative that will coincide with the National Maker Faire. To drum up publicity for the event, Andrew Coy, a senior advisor in the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Adam Savage, formerly of Mythbusters, have been touring the country and visiting STEM programs and maker communities across the US. The first stop of the tour took place in Cleveland, Ohio, where Savage proclaimed himself impressed with the city's maker communities - and emphasized that teaching children the importance of making is critical to the future.
