Researchers from the Switzerland-based ETH Zurich have developed a new technique called Computational Thermoforming. With this process, colored 3D models can be transformed onto a plastic sheet and vacuum-sealed around a 3D printed object using pressure and heat, giving the 3D print highly detailed patterns and a pristine colored finish.
