    Sydney Opera House: Light Diffusion Filament for LED Applications

    We created a hollow version of the Sydney Opera House and installed Adafruit NeoPixels underneath. Printing the opera house with a special light diffusion PLA filament makes the individual LEDs disappear to create an amazingly smooth illumination. We've tried similar things with transparent and natural PLA and it doesn't work nearly as well.

    Did you smooth the print with anything ?

    I didn't do any smoothing or other post processing. I printed with 0.2mm layer height and the print came out really good -- just minimal striation which is pretty much invisible once the house is illuminated!
