    Large Build Area?

    Hi,

I'm curious if people are frustrated by the build area of their printers. Who is running into issues because their build area is not big enough? Thanks!

I would imagine pretty much everyone at some point. That said I would try to design parts in multiple pieces that can click or screw together for a larger component.

Happened to me quite a lot when I first started. I was trying to print a control panel for a box and my print area was just too small (by about 20mm) to do it in one piece. In the end I made it from 2 separate sections and it actually made more sense for the build as it made it easier to swap out the battery. If you're trying to do really big prints (high Z as well as X/Y) you're also risking a lot more filament with a single failure.

It's nice to have the option of a big area, but most of the time now I design around it.
