Photographer Daniel Warnecke created a series of 3D printed sculptures from iconic 2D images with an updated twist. Shown in sneakers, leggings, track suits, and ripped jeans, the pieces are still easily identified and provide a welcome new take on familiar faces. Unfortunately, it is the faces that appear to have received the short end of the stick in this [re]presentations. However, as an initial foray into translation between media, this exhibit and the one to follow are welcome initial steps in an ongoing dialog about portraiture.
