The Elephant Timer, just launched on Kickstarter, is a great—and very affordable—way to keep yourself straight whether you are cooking a holiday meal or trying to make yourself stay on the treadmill for a set amount of time. Featuring a 3D printed outer shell from Shapeways, the timer is about the size of a baseball and extremely easy to operate; for instance, if you want the rice to cook for 30 minutes, you just turn the 12-sided dodecahedron so the correct number is facing up, and the timer starts, alerting you with an audio notification. If you have another time to set after that, you can do so directly afterward. Inventor Kim Rubin is hoping to raise $40K by April 13th on Kickstarter, and if you pledge just $40, you’ll receive one of the very first Elephant Timers ever made.
