How long until all 3D Printers are fast?

I know there was news last week that a company was working on building a 3D printer that was up to 500 times faster than current models. However, how long do you guys think it will be before we can print stuff out in a matter of seconds? For example, printing a coffee mug would take 30 seconds rather than several hours. This is when I feel 3D printing will really take off.

I think it will be a very long time before we see many consumer level printers printing much faster than they do now. Perhaps I'm wrong. However, I just don't see how it will be done with FFF printing, without loss of accuracy and precision.
