A cancer patient in Croatia had to have a large part of his ear removed during a surgery to treat his basal cell carcinoma. While the amputation didn't affect his hearing, it still left him with a large scar, but luckily for him, the University of Rijeka had purchased a 3D printer, which they used to print a silicone ear that was attached in a second surgery.
