Romina the Whippet Receives 3D Printed Prosthetic Leg
Romina the whippet lost her front leg in a terrible accident with a lawnmower in 2013. Her owners brought her to Universidad del Valle de Mexico's Veterinary Hospital, where a team of veterinarians and researchers developed a prosthetic leg for her using 3D printing. Unlike many animal prosthetics, Romina's new leg is fully jointed and will enable her to move as naturally as she would with her original leg; the device was the first articulated prosthetic leg to be designed in Mexico. This is great. I have an Italian Greyhound with almost the exact issue, and this is very inspiring.
