Oak Ridge National Laboratory, partnering with Clayton Homes, and US architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) certainly seems to be on their way to making 3D printed homes and cars a reality. Featuring an energy system that allows for solar heat during the day and battery backup at night, the AMIE concept is made up of a home that consists of 3D printed panels, and an electric hybrid car that can both take energy from the home as well as give it, via a wireless pad.
