A Post-Human 3D Printed Piece of Art
Artist Corinne Whitaker uses 3D digital design and 3D printing to "bring to life the swirl of designs that populates [her] visual realm." This visual realm is comprised of seriously playful creatures who embody the post-human condition at a time of near planetary and human extinction due to factors such as climate change and endless war. But unlike popular apocalyptic images of a dystopian landscape and corroded human forms, Whitaker's designs evoke optimism from previously unthinkable organic forms. She elicits reflections on a state of existence in the here and now of human, and sometimes distinctively post-feminine, bodies interacting and merging with imminent technological futures.
