??? But Not All Makerbot Replicator 1 'clones' have Sailfish Firmware, installed from factory ! ?
Will that set-up procedure still work with all other types of Firmware ?

If you haven't got sailfish on then you are not maximising your printer's abilities. It is a must have as far as Makerbot and the clones goes.

That may be true but as long as the printer is 'Doing Everything you Want it to'
why gamble on trying to install a new unknown version of firmware,
that possibly may not be compatible with hardware or slicer software you are using,
or may install incorrectly and cause problems?
I've read about Many people having problems when trying to up-grade their firmware,
and I don't Need that type possible problem, since ours works great the way it Is !

So you can Guarantee that it is compatible with Our printer and the software we are using ???
    (CTC-Bizer and Makerbot-2.4 or later)
And that there will be No problems when installing it ?
(like the motherboard stops working correctly)

    I Don't think So !

No one can guarantee that for Sailfish nor can they for the original software either. The advantage of Sailfish is that you will get better support for any problems that you do find than you will for a Chinese third party modified copy of the years and years old original software.

    Yes, That's Exactly What I'm Saying !
So, why take a Chance and Change firmware to Sailfish version, if it's Working Great already !
If it Works you Don't Need Support ! LOL
(Better Support is Only needed when something does Not work)

    Seriously? Use your head...

Check which mobo you have and find the appropriate SF version for your board. You can find a comprehensive list [here. It'll be either the 1280 or 2560.

Reasons to upgrade? Pause at predetermined z position, change speed mid print, change temp mid print, etc. There's more but I honestly don't feel like doing your homework. And since every beginner needs to learn how to calibrate the extruder I created a stickied thread.

Sorry to be So Negative, in your 'stickied thread'.
But I Know you would Not want to present 'Only One side of the story' !

    I guess I'm just Not a Gambler !

Next they will be asking me to upgrade my Wife,
since there are younger and prettier versions available ! LOL
