Use 3D Projections To Create Your Own Holographic Effects

The world of holograms generally invokes memories of trips to Disney, as well as movies we’ve seen, like Star Wars. A technology most of us consider to be out of our reach, creating holograms is indeed considered to be a difficult area to navigate. Jaime Ruiz-Avila, however, has used his knowledge of light and physics to create the Holovect, short for holographic vector display. This device allows the user to upload objects or create code themselves for images to be displayed through shooting out modified, reflective, and repetitive light. It can be used to display images, landscapes, scenery--and even games like Pong. Currently, the Holovect is featured on Kickstarter as Ruiz-Avila hopes to raise $350,000 by Jan. 8th.
