How long OR how many prints before your first printer failure? And what failed?

Just wondering about longevity and what parts I might want to have on hand for "that day".

I know it can vary wildly.

Has anyone had their printer go for a year or 250 prints (whichever occurs sooner) before a failure?

I forget exactly, something like 525 hours (could be wrong on the hours!). The Y axis motor mount cracked. A spare was included. I've printed another spare.

I've replaced a number of nozzles, but don't consider that a failure.

Nothing else so far, knock on wood...

I had a problem right after delivery : a youth problem for my printer design, solved right after by the Support.

Nothing ever since. It's been a year and over 100 prints.

Since we have more less the same printer you can look into the following:

- Y axis motor mounting bracket. I have printed these but made one out of aluminium.
- X axis belt clamp (under the extruders). Also replaced with an aluminium part.

I intend to, over time, replace as parts as possible with aluminium ones as the printer itself runs perfectly.

I've printing for over a year now but just recently joined 3dprintboard. I am mostly active on Reddit until recently. I've had over 100 prints so far and the first problem I encountered are clogged nozzles that made my printer halt. I've been cleaning and replacing nozzles for maintenance.

Speaking of things like this.....I have my Printer plugged into a Battery Backup device because occasionally we have power dips.
The other night it saved a 6 hour print due to a 3 second outage.

Plus I think it will protect my beloved printer from "dirty power" that occasionally comes through.

Failure not due to user error or damage in shipment? None yet. Some heads have over 2000 hours of print time.
