After attending a maker fair in New York City, Colombian design student Javier Muñoz decided that he wanted to create the first 3D printed guitar in Colombia. At first, it seemed that his dream would not be possible because of the cost of using polymers for printing, but when he discovered that a guitar could be made using classic nylon filament, he set about to make his dream a reality. Using Autodesk Inventor and with the assistance of 1/4 Tech, the only Makerspace in Bogota, Muñoz created a guitar that paid tribe to his country's Pre-Columbian past and legendary guitar player Randy Rhoads, all at the same time.
