3D Printing Rare Osteological Specimens
Researchers from the University of Bourdeaux have worked to develop a protocol for the creation of 3D printed models of paleo-specimens for educational use. The team creates images of the bones' internal structures through X-ray and then, using their own image processing software, to create a digital file ready for high quality 3D printing. They then make these samples available as kits for study by students and researchers alike. Read more at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/105005/3dp-osteological-specimens/
