    3D Printable P51-D Mustang Model Airplane

    3D LabPrint has just announced the release of its latest 3D printable model airplane, the P51-D Mustang. This venerable fighter, flown during WWII and the Korean War, became a staple member of the Royal Air Force and claimed its place in history for its ability to outperform the German Luftwaffe.     First off all P-51D's had a 4 bladed Hamilton standard prop not a 5 bladed thing they show here...The whole front fuselage shape is way off again as well as the bubble top canopy shape being off as well. There are lots of reference materials on the web to get the basic shape and dimensions right.

    they're clearly showing the wrong model.

    Look at the wing silhouette - what they're showing is a spitfire. The mustang has square ended wings.

    Its not even close to being a Spitfire either.....Spitfire doesn't have the radiator scoop on the fuselage or a 5 bladed prop except on the XIV variant.

    They need to pull thing from being sold as something that its not and go back to their reference drawing board and start over.

    Thats not a P-51D. Its a XP-51F which did have a 5 blade prop as well as 3 blade. The P-51 only came in 3 and 4 blade props. And the XP-51F had the altered shape and changed airfoils. I think the modler got the wrong plane frame to model the mesh from.
