After attending a child from a very poor family who had lost his left ear in an accident, doctors were interested in determining if it would be possible to obtain a low cost prosthetic. They turned to the engineers at Novabeans who helped them to develop a 3D printed solution. The custom ear was created by scanning the uninjured ear and converting it into a mirror image.
